How Pink’s “TRY” Song Helped Me Beat Breast Cancer!

I love Pink’s voice and demeanor. But, over a few years ago, her TRY song saved my dreams at a time when I felt like giving up on nearly everything… I can still hear her voice repeating “gotta get up and try, try, try” in my head until TODAY… It was the perfect voice that I had to hear, and it is still perfect! "I CONFESS THAT I LOVE (ME) SOME PINK!"

So, some years or so ago, I moved from Central Florida to South Florida to be closer to my now deceased Mother, the angelic lady that saved me from HELL (my Homeland). My business was doing good in Orlando and for a while was doing good in S. Florida as well, but S. Florida was not Central Florida and my Mother’s slow loss to her fight against breast cancer was affecting me substantially. At the same time, I was enrolled in a Pre-Med programs at two prestigious schools in South Florida, and was taking exams and shedding tears at each word that reminded me of my late Mother’s fight against breast cancer. So much, that my Professors promised to allow me to take all exams later… But PINK kept telling me to GET UP AND TRY, TRY, TRY....

YUP, again and again, I kept hearing Pink’s TRY song in my head… particularly the words “GOTTA GET UP AND TRY, TRY, TRY!” I fell in love with PINK from that time on and wherever I am and whenever I hear that son, I thought of the victories I experienced thanks to God, and secondarily, thanks to PINK.

Here are the lyrics:

Ever wonder 'bout what he's doing How it's all turned to lies Sometimes I think that it's better, To never ask why

Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame Where there is a flame, someone's bound to get burned But just because it burns, doesn't mean you're gonna die You gotta get up and try, and try, and try Gotta get up and try, and try, and try You gotta get up and try, and try, and try

Funny how the heart can be deceiving More than just a couple times Why do we fall in love so easy Even when it's not right

Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame Where there is a flame, someone's bound to get burned But just because it burns, doesn't mean you're gonna die You gotta get up and try, and try, and try Gotta get up and try, and try, and try You gotta get up and try, and try, and try

Ever worry that it might be ruined And does it make you wanna cry When you're out there doing what you're doing Are you just getting by Tell me are you just getting by, by, by

Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame Where there is a flame, someone's bound to get burned But just because it burns, doesn't mean you're gonna die You gotta get up and try, and try, and try Gotta get up and try, and try, and try You gotta get up and try, and try, and try

You gotta get up and try, and try, and try You gotta get up and try, and try, and try You gotta get up and try, and try, and try You gotta get up and try, and try, and try

You gotta get up and try, and try, and try Gotta get up and try, and try, and try

I would so love to meet PINK in person. You see, artists are amazing people. From Bob Marley, to Michael Jackson, Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle, they have helped transformed our World in one way shape or form. At times, they might as well be God’s voice to us. Through music and humor, they remind us all of our flawed nature as human beings in a non-confrontational manner, and in so many ways, God uses them to help us get through the most difficult times in humanity.

I will always love PINK because of that song. Thus, if you’re ever down, remember all you have to do is “You’ve GOTTA GET UP AND TRY, TRY, TRY” and in the end everything will be OK! God wants you to try and triumph. The DEVIL is a liar! (Smile).

By the way, if you personally know PINK, please HOOK A BROTHER UP… I truly would love to meet her. But, otherwise, guess who will be at her next concerts in the future and for years to come… Yup, this little Black boy... Yup, MOI! (LOL)

Still getting up every day and trying and trying, but now, I'm not longer depressed about my Mother's death... and can't be depressed about ANY DEATH anymore.

Thank you, PINK! Breast Cancer might have killed my Mother, but your song did not allow it to kill my dream to create research tools that make believe that I can help find a cure for it in the foreseeable future.
