AMERICA: Hypocritically & Immorally GREAT… Reparations Anyone?
To me, America is an ENIGMA. One moment, one is so pleased to live on a land that is opportunity-and freedom-centric, and the next moment one realizes that s/he is living on the most immoral and hypocritical land on Earth.
Now, before anyone dares to tell me to pack up and leave if I don’t like it, let me say the following:
1. I came here willingly and legally and will also leave here willingly (if ever).
2. I have created more opportunities and jobs here than perhaps all your relatives combined.
3. I appreciate America more than you ever will, so much that I choose to critically analyze it for its TRUTH.
Now that I have gotten this out of the way, WHY IS AMERICA HYPOCRITICAL & IMMORAL?
CASE#1:
Let’s consider Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who is perhaps America’s most celebrated NEGRO (Black Man) and human-being today. YET, not too long ago, the American government not only called him the most disgusting names, but also called him EVIL and a waste of human life in a nutshell. Moreover, it (via the FBI) promised to assassinate him, and ended doing exactly that, yet posthumously (after his death), he was glorified and celebrated as the great man that he truly was. However, while he was alive, he was only seen as a threat and a loser (even though the U.S. knew that was not the case.) Efforts were made to discredit him (not so different from those that were made by some private citizens to discredit the first non-White president of the United States, namely President Obama.)
Here is an example of a letter that was sent to Dr. King by the US Government (i.e., the FBI)… you can be the judge of it yourself.
CASE#2:
America has been asking the World to be MORALLY-SOUND while it has yet to make its former slaves (i.e., Negroes or Blacks) whole.
One of the main reasons why Dr. King was killed was because he asked for a special type of reparations (something that would make an oppressed group whole) not just for Blacks but for those that were oppressed or disenfranchised at large. It seems to me that whenever a prominent leader mentions the word “REPARATIONS”, there is already a DEATH WISH attached to his head. However, it will keep re-appearing UNTIL America become MORALLY-SOUND enough to realize that it did WRONG descendants of the ORIGINAL FATHER OF HUMANITY.
Here is an excerpt of what Dr. King actually said:
King stated that Black Americans, as well as other disadvantaged Americans, should be compensated for historical wrongs. In an interview conducted for Playboy in 1965, he said that granting Black Americans only equality could not realistically close the economic gap between them and whites. King said that he did not seek a full restitution of wages lost to slavery, which he believed impossible, but proposed a government compensatory program of $50 billion over ten years to all disadvantaged groups.
He was correct then and is correct today… please, see my article entitled “UNCONSCIONABLE GAPS”.
Moreover, he posited that "the money spent would be more than amply justified by the benefits that would accrue to the nation through a spectacular decline in school dropouts, family breakups, crime rates, illegitimacy, swollen relief rolls, rioting and other social evils."
Dr. King presented this idea as “an application of the common law regarding settlement of unpaid labor, but clarified that he felt that the money should not be spent exclusively on Blacks. He stated, "It should benefit the disadvantaged of all races."
I find America to be HYPOCRITICAL because it seems to have spoken on both sides of its mouth even about its most celebrated Black man who was less militant, intellectual and wanted integration and non-violence.
Moreover, I find America to be IMMORAL towards its BLACK citizens because while other nations and groups (e.g., JEWS) have gotten some form of reparations from America and others, Blacks seemed to have been given “WELFARE” (which I call DISASTER-FARE) as a destruction-centric system which induces people to stay SINGLE and deter them from entering lasting and long term relationships upon which communities can be built.
America has called itself ONE NATION, UNDER GOD. Thus, it will have to answer to GOD, and this morning I heard the VOICE OF DR. KING telling America to let FREEDOM reign… to LET HIS PEOPLE GO… to stop the disenfranchisement and destruction of Black Americans. It’s UNCONSCIONABLE and EVIL at best!
The Democratic Party is just pandering and hasn’t done anything for Black plight, and the Republican Party has essentially been too racist or simply TOO WHITE thus far, yet have some values that may help Blacks advance much faster than the Democratic Party does. Common sense is not so common, and so many are confused and looking for solutions in the wrong places. They are both guilty of the same thing for different reasons and that is PATENT RACISM… and they and America combined are all TOO IMMORAL to judge each other or others. The SOLUTION can only come from WITHIN THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM.
A new moral authority (empowered by the great souls of Dr. King, Malcom X, Marcus Garvey, and other great and true Black leaders) is needed to tell America what to do. America is TOO CLUELESS or DISILLUSIONED about its inequities and gaps. While, he, too may be exterminated, perhaps posthumously, s/he will become America’s next MORALITY HERO to take this POWERFUL LAND closer to its IDEALS -- ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE with LIBERTY & JUSTICE FOR ALL (i.e., NOT JUST WHITES).
